Congress passes, President Obama signs National Foundation on Physical Fitness, Sports and Nutrition Establishment Act The signing of this bill Dec. 22 officially established the National Foundation on Physical Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition. The foundation will help to fund the activities of the the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and increase resources directed toward the promotion of sports, physical activity and good nutrition. The bill was supported by theCoalition for the National Foundation on Physical Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. McMillen is a former congressman and NBA basketball player who served twice on the President's Council. President signs Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act into law After passing with bipartisan support in both the House and the Senate, the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act 2010 received President Obama's signature Dec. 13. According to a fact sheet issued the day of the signing, the act "authorizes funding for federal school meal and child nutrition programs and increases access to healthy food for low-income children."
