OfficialStart Date Monday 5/10

Hey Gang,

The offical start date for the 30 day Paleo challenge is Monday, May 10th...

Please, ask me questions due to conflicting information as well as post comments... We are in this together...

You'll be measuring & recording your success over the 30 days of the challenge.

Eat real food. Meat, eggs, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fruit, oils (like EVOO or coconut). Eat foods with very few ingredients, all pronounceable ingredients, or better yet, no ingredients listed at all because they’re fresh and natural.

Do not eat dairy. This includes butter, cheese, yogurt and milk (including cream in your coffee).

Do not eat any grains. This includes bread, rice, pasta, corn, oatmeal, and also any gluten-free pseudo-grains (quinoa, etc).

Do not eat legumes. This includes beans of all kinds, lentils, and peanuts. No peanut butter!

Do not eat sugars of any kind, real or artificial. No maple syrup, honey, agave nectar, Splenda, Truvia, Stevia, etc.

Do not eat processed foods. This includes protein shakes, processed bars like Zone and Balance bars, dairy-free creamers, etc.

Do not drink alcohol, in any form.

If you cheat... your out! This is all based on the honor system....

**Coaches Prefrence**
Pale/Zone: The Paleo Diet is all about quality food, while the Zone Diet is all about the exact quantity and timing of meals. There are favorable and unfavorable foods in the zone diet. Eating paleo foods in zone portions combines the two diets and will optimize health and performance. While this method provides the best results, it is also the most strict and difficult to follow.

  2. While yes the paleo diet encourages quality foods, I'd say the core of the diet is some foods are "in" and some foods are "out." And you have listed above which are in and which are out. The multiple ingredient problem is when there is more than one ingredient generally the other ingredients are out foods. Except for most Larabars, where all the many ingredients are in foods.

I have a more complete defintion here: Paleo diet explained.
