31 Heroes Day#6

First, thank you for all of your support in 2011, 2012 and 2013! The affiliates are the backbone of this event, and we couldn’t do it without you! We continue to look for ways to refine the process and make it easier for you, so please let us know if you want us to tweak anything before we launch. Just drop us an email to info@31Heroes.com with your thoughts. We know as gym owners and managers, you are trying to plan out your calendar for the year, so we will launch your registration in March. So as you know, we are a non-profit and we work to spend our money wisely. Social media has become increasingly driven by a pay-to-promote model. We don’t want to have to pay for you to see our posts, so please add us to your interests on 31Heroes Facebook and follow us on 31Heroes Twitter to get updates for event registration opening, and other official 31Heroes and One Team One Fight events. We are considering some changes to the event this year, so we will be looking for your feedback in the upcoming months. We look forward to seeing everyone from previous events and many new comers who want to “Get in the Fight” to support our service members and their families. THANK YOU for everything you do to help us honor military heroes and their families!!

“31Heroes”
AMRAP 31 minutes (As Many Reps As Possible)
8 Thrusters (155/105#)
6 Rope Climbs (15 ft. ascent)
11 Box Jumps (30/24″)
This is a Partner WOD – Partner #1 will perform the work listed above. Partner #2 will run 400m with a sandbag (45/25). Once Partner #2 returns from the run, Partner #1 will grab the sandbag and begin their 400m, while Partner #2 continues work wherever #1 left off.
Score is your total # of reps
This WOD was created specifically to honor the 30 men and one dog that gave their lives for our country on August 6, 2011. It is 31 minutes long—one minute in remembrance of each hero. The rep scheme is 8-6-11—the date of their ultimate sacrifice. Finally, this is a partner WOD. The men who gave their lives were from multiple branches of our military, working together as a team.  In the workout you and your team member will constantly be taking the load from each other providing much needed support and relief. We realize that no physical sacrifice made during a workout can come close to the sacrifice our brave heroes made, but we consider this WOD a CrossFitters “moment of silence.” This is how we can honor those that gave all in the name of freedom.
